Classics on the Common - Harpenden, Herts 22nd July 2015.

This event, now in its 22nd year, invites classic car owners to exhibit their cars between 2pm and dusk on the wonderful Common adjacent to the centre of Harpenden in Hertfordshire.  Once a year, Harpenden Common comes alive for half a day with more than 1000 classics cars, motor cycles and scooters and it always attracts around 10,000 admiring spectators.

Little wonder then that Classics on the Common, Britain’s biggest mid-week classic car show, now ranks among the top events in the classics calendar. Charities benefit, too. 2014's show raised £30,000 for local, national and international charities and it raised £33,000 in 2015.

2015 was the year of the inaugural visit by the Cowley to Classics on the Common!

When it came time to leave, the hood was lowered and we turned South (away from Harpenden centre) because the town was clogged.  This necessitated a considerable detour through side streets during which a slightly displaced floor board started to snag the clutch pedal making gear changing even more of a challenge than it normally is.  An exciting end to an exciting day.
